Good Ol’ Cousin Willie
Wilfred Sieg Jr. doesn’t know much about Hollywood, but the product he and his family make in Harrison County, Ind., sure goes good with a movie.

Sieg is the son of Wilfred Sieg Sr., better known as the “Cousin Willie” of Cousin Willie popcorn, and the grandson of Edward and Agnes Sieg, who founded the Ramsey Popcorn Co. in 1944 in Harrison County, Ind. It's been a popping success ever since.

“It's a fun business,” says Wilfred Jr., president of the company. “There's never a dull moment.”

Wilfred Sr. has been semiretired since 1996, but he still makes frequent appearances as Cousin Willie at charity functions or store grand openings.

Ramsey Popcorn, which gets 60 percent of its corn from Indiana, sells around 50 million pounds of popcorn per year. The Cousin Willie brand is the top-selling microwave popcorn in several regions of the nation.
