Tastes Great, More Filling

It’s not just for Polish people anymore.

Helen Mannarino of Pittsburgh, Penn., has started a business called Pierogies Plus, which has now been featured on the Food Network twice. The company employs 16 people, most of whom share Mannarino’s Eastern European roots.

She and her staff serve four varieties of the Polish favorites each day, with an additional 24 available through special order. Customers can also suggest their own fillings when ordering the stuffed dumpling delicacy.

“People kept asking for this and that, and we just started to make different kinds just to make people happy,” she says. “I guess that’s what this business is all about.”
